Pottery Antique Dealers

Why is it OK to ask some questions here, but not others?
It is a great place to find answers. But the other day I was watching someone else's question asking if someone could help identify a piece of ancient pottery. All responders were answering things like "this is not a site for antiques dealer he", etc. I thought it was a bit hard because it seems a perfectly reasonable question to me. Obviously you need an image of the object if you were to ask people to comment on. But if its OK to ask: "Do you like my hair? (And to show a photo yoursef) which was another issue here, so that isn't a little unfair? Ps-the original applicant This question pottery wasn't me. I found his question because I considered asking a similar position and I tried to see first if there was anything already there, I could learn. However, seeing this group of responses was wondering if there was a kind of bar on this type of question ... leading this question this place!
The question of pottery is perfectly legal and very much the kind of thing this site is intended. You did not mention the category in which it was posted - Sometimes, people feel entitled to display a "cranky" responses when the questions are in the wrong category. In "Games and Entertainment '->' Hobbies & Crafts" where They have consistently shown they are not always get answers, but they have generally not treated with hostility, either. On the other hand, "hair" issue, as published, is illegal - it is considered a "chat" violation and will probably be reported. For more information on rules on issues, you can see the help page on the Yahoo link below. Http: / / help.yahoo.com / l / us / yahoo/answers/moderation/moderation-488415.html
